Calcium hydroxyapatite
The effects of the treatment
The method using hydroxyapatite to fill wrinkles is so popular because of its natural origin. This mineral occurs in nature – it is among other things the component of bones and teeth. In cosmetology and aesthetic medicine, it is used as a filler of skin cavities. It is a gel-like preparation in which hydroxyapatite is in the form of microspheres. Particles of the substance after intradermal application stimulate the development of natural collagen fibers, which prolongs the durability of effects. For many years, the use of the preparation works well, among others in ophthalmology, dentistry, neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery, and enjoys great success. In aesthetic medicine, it is particularly appreciated for immediate filling. The skin under its influence becomes thicker and significantly more elastic, which clearly rejuvenates its appearance.
What does the treatment with calcium hydroxyapatite look like?
The first step, of course, is consultation with a doctor and examination of the patient’s predisposition to the treatment. The next stage is usually anesthesia – it is usually done using anesthetic cream, although anesthesia is added to the preparation just before the procedure. The most important part of the treatment is to apply the product using a properly selected, sterile microneedle or microcannula. Injections are performed in places where there is a tissue defect.
Time of treatment
The treatment lasts from 30 to 90 minutes.
The recovery period after the treatment
The vast majority of patients do not require convalescence. There are, however, cases of local swelling for 24 hours after treatment, light bruising and pain that do not last long. There are no special restrictions after the procedure.
Time of treatment effects
The treatments carried out so far confirm the effectiveness of therapy and lasting effects for at least a year and a half, and in some cases even longer. If necessary, the next treatment can be performed after 3 months.
The presented description of the procedure is of general character and does not constitute medical information. The basis for the operation is always an individual medical consultation.
