Platelet rich plasma
The effects of the treatment with platelet rich plasma
In aesthetic medicine, therapies using platelet-rich plasma works best when the patient has a problem with the first signs of skin aging, or it has lost its firmness and glow. It can also be a solution to the problem of hair loss or a slowed wound healing process. The aim of the treatment is to biostimulate skin cells – in the process where the natural platelet rich plasma is formed in the patient’s blood. The plasma, due to its biocompatibility, improves the process of tissue regeneration and the production of new blood vessels. It activates fibroblasts for the production of new collagen and improves the work of stem cells. The treatment ensures a clear regeneration and regeneration of the skin, smoothing wrinkles as well as improving firmness. Basing this method on the stimulation of stem cells causes the skin to regain its young appearance in a natural way. The most important effects of the therapy are:
- smoothing and unifying skin tone,
- improving elasticity, tension and skin density,
- remodeling of collagen fibers,
- improving blood supply to the skin,
- smoothing wrinkles and folds,
- volumetric biostimulatory therapy of skin cells,
- acceleration of healing processes after aesthetic medicine treatments,
- treatment of scalp baldness.
What does the treatment look like?
Like all medical procedures, the treatment is preceded by a thorough medical consultation. This allows you to verify the indications and possible contraindications to the procedure. The therapy consists in taking the patient’s blood (about 6-18 ml). The next step is the separation of erythrocytes and leukocytes from plasma containing platelets. This is done in a centrifuge in which the collected blood is placed in the test tubes and subjected to a centrifugation process for approx. 5 minutes. The resulting platelet rich plasma is the basic preparation on which the treatment is based.
Plasma can be used spotwise (like classical mesotherapy), as well as linearly – along wrinkles and folds. It can be used on various parts of the body. Anesthesia is performed on the basis of anesthetic cream, and in some cases dental anesthesia is used.
Time of treatment
The treatment lasts from 30 to 60 minutes.
Period of convalescence after treatment with platelet-rich plasma
In a few cases after the treatment, they may include: light swelling, pain, itching, bruising or discoloration and sensitivity to pain. However, they appear very rarely and do not last longer than a few days. Immediately after the treatment, local swelling may occur in some patients, which disappears after 4 hours. Most often, patients do not need convalescence.
The duration of the effects
The effects of treatments performed in a series of 3 repetitions last up to about 12 months.
The presented description of the procedure is of general character and does not constitute medical information. The basis for the operation is always an individual medical consultation.
